Piano & Violin Tutors and Whole Class General Musicianship/Guitar Tutors
We are looking for enthusiastic and engaging practitioners to join our team of peripatetic instrumental tutors to deliver outstanding 1-1 piano, violin lessons & whole class general musicianship/guitar lessons at our Music Centres and schools across Merton.
Once appointed to panel, offers of work can be made in response to demand and tutor availability.
Jazz Piano Tutor – SW19
£34.50 – £35.50 per hour
We are looking for a piano tutor with a jazz specialism to teach at our South Wimbledon Music Centre on Wednesday evenings.
The role will involve teaching 1-1 piano lessons between 4-9pm.
For the successful candidate, there may also be the opportunity to co-lead ‘JazzWorks’, MMF’s Intermediate Jazz Ensemble who meet weekly on Wednesdays. The group is aimed at young musicians working at approximately Grade 4–7 level, with a focus on developing confidence in improvisation and spontaneous music-making within a jazz ensemble setting.
School Piano Tutors – SW19, CR4
£34.50 per hour
We are looking for piano tutors to teach 1-1 lessons at a primary school in SW19 all day on Fridays and a primary school in CR4 on Monday mornings.
We are also looking for a piano tutor to teach 1-1 lessons for half a day in a secondary school in SW19. There is flexibility regarding which day of the week this takes place.
Music Centre Piano Tutor – CR4
£34.50 per hour
We are looking for a piano tutor to teach 1-1 lessons at our Soundwave Music Centre in Mitcham on a Thursday evening for 2-3 hours of lessons from 4pm.
Violin Tutor – SE19
£34.50 – £35.50 per hour
We are looking for violin tutors to teach 1-1 lessons and a after school violin club at a primary school in SE19 on Tuesdays.
Whole Class General Musicianship Tutor – Two Week Timetable – CR4
£42.40 per hour / £161.70 day rate (plus 17.5% holiday uplift)
We are looking for a tutor to teach whole class general musicianship at a primary school in Mitcham across the school year. The school runs a two-week timetable, and the teaching schedule is as follows:
Mondays – two-week rotation:
- Week A: 3 hours of general musicianship teaching in the morning
- Week B: A full day of general musicianship teaching across the school day
Thursdays – Week A only:
- A full day of general musicianship teaching
(No teaching will take place on Thursdays on Week B)
There may also be an opportunity to teach whole class instrumental lessons (e.g. ukulele) alongside general musicianship to certain year groups.
Whole Class Guitar Tutor – SW20
£42.40 per hour (plus 17.5% holiday uplift)
We are looking for a tutor to teach whole class guitar to upper key stage 2 students at a school in Wimbledon for 2 hours on a Monday or Wednesday. This is during the Autumn and Spring term only.
Whole Class General Musicianship Tutor – SM4
£42.40 per hour / £161.70 day rate (plus 17.5% holiday uplift)
We are looking for a tutor to teach whole class general musicianship at a primary school in Morden across the school year. There is some flexibility with days and hours, but teaching will likely take place on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, either for a full day or half day.
