Musicianship Teacher

£42.70 per hour

The Royal College of Music Junior Department (RCMJD) is seeking to engage a Musicianship Teacher to join our vibrant and expanding RCMJD musicianship faculty. The post holder will be responsible for teaching group classes as part of the core RCMJD programme.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

  • You should be a widely recognised and highly respected teacher.
  • You will be teaching, to an exceptionally high level of technical and musical proficiency, gifted and talented students aged between 8 and 18, so relevant teaching experience at this level is required.
  • You should have the relevant understanding and experience of teaching aural and advanced music theory in a class setting.
  • You should understand the particular demands of the music profession whilst striving to help each student reach the fullness of their own potential.

We expect to be able to offer a minimum of 6 hours teaching per week, for approximately 30 weeks per year. Up to 7 hours of teaching per week may be available, depending on scheduling and timetable considerations for next academic year. The successful applicants will need to make a regular commitment to the RCMJD on Saturdays during term-time.
