Primary Music Series: BBC Ten Pieces & Other Resources

  • 8th June 2026
  • 3.30pm - 5pm
  • Zoom (Online)

A little help from my friends; the BBC leads a session to highlight the great resources and support that external partners can provide to educators, with the support of One Education Music Manchester. This session is a part of our Primary School Music Teaching series.

Young People watch a orchestra as conductor smiles facing them.

Jen Redmond from BBC Ten Pieces will provide a whistlestop tour of the wealth of resources that BBC Ten Pieces has freely available online; with context about the importance of the rich diversity of these resources; profiling ethnically diverse composers, women composers, as well as a bank of trailblazing people in music.

Jen will be joined by Steven Hawkins from One Education Music who will demonstrate the practical application of using the ten pieces resources with children throughout the Manchester City region.

At the end of the session, attendees will be invited to participate in a Q&A.
