An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the strategic development and operational delivery of Doncaster’s Music Service, helping to ensure that children and young people across the borough can access high-quality music education opportunities.

As Music Education Service Manager, you will play a leading role in shaping the future of music education across Doncaster. Working closely with schools, partners, funders and colleagues across the South Yorkshire Music Hub, you will ensure that the service remains ambitious, inclusive, financially sustainable and aligned with the National Plan for Music Education.

Duties include:

  • Leading the strategic development and operational delivery of Doncaster’s Music Service.
  • Developing and monitoring key strategic plans, including Music Education Hub and Schools Music Education plans.
  • Leading commercial growth and promoting sustainable service delivery.
  • Identifying, securing and managing external funding opportunities.
  • Managing traded income, budgets and financial resources.
  • Developing strong partnerships with schools, cultural organisations, funders and stakeholders.
  • Leading service performance monitoring, data analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Representing the Music Service at local, regional and national forums.
  • Providing leadership and line management across the Music Service team.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, governance, funding and statutory requirements.

You will be an experienced and confident leader with a strong understanding of music education, partnership working and service development. You will have the ability to lead teams, manage budgets, develop strategic partnerships and drive innovation, whilst maintaining a clear focus on delivering excellent outcomes for children and young people.
