Inclusive Recruitment in Action
Who we hire shapes everything. Learn from HR and inclusion experts how to limit unconscious bias’ impact on who you hire for your Music education organisation.

Who we hire shapes everything. Our culture, our programmes, our credibility as inclusion-led organisations. Yet recruitment processes remain one of the most common sites of unconscious bias and structural inequity in the workplace. This session cuts through the theory to focus on what inclusive recruitment actually looks like in practice.
From job descriptions and shortlisting criteria to interview design and decision-making, we’ll examine where bias enters the process and what leaders can do to interrupt it practically and effectively.
Guest Speaker Cassandra Akintoye has over 15 years of HR expertise and this session is designed specifically for the music education context. You will come away with tools and frameworks you can implement in your organisation straight away.
This session is for inclusion leads, people managers and senior leaders with responsibility for recruitment and organisational culture in music education.
