The Lost Music of Auschwitz
Added to website 13/01/2026.
This major project from Constella Music focuses on restoring and performing long-forgotten music written by prisoners in Auschwitz. Constella Music has put together an education pack for KS3 students to explore the Holocaust, including lesson plans.

Founded in 2011, Constella Music is the creative powerhouse behind the award-winning composer and conductor Leo Geyer. Constella publishes and performs Geyer’s works, which span opera, dance, film, and concert music, and serves as a production company for his growing portfolio in broadcast presenting.
Since 2015, Dr. Leo Geyer has worked extensively in the archives of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum to piece together fragments of musical manuscripts, enabling this lost music to be heard once more. Constella initiated the project to engage the public in commemorating 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz. The project has led to a variety of outcomes, including an opera-ballet production, a radio programme, and a documentary film, resulting in worldwide media coverage.
