This guide provides an introduction to what inclusive practice looks like in the instrumental or singing lesson. It covers common terms, practical suggestions and ideas for developing inclusive practice. It is intended as a ‘snapshot’ to get tutors started or provide a prompt for reflection. The guide was developed as a follow up to the Merton Music Foundation Youth Music funded 2021 Tutor Conference focusing on diversity and inclusion and was written to incorporate attendee feedback.
