Courses and workshops available throughout the year to support teachers and students of music and music education

This online CPD course covers the processes and pedagogy of planning and assessing primary music.

A combined adult/child safeguarding online training course written specifically for music groups and developed in conjunction with Making Music, the UK’s largest membership body for leisure-time music groups.

Led by RNCM tutor Mark Heron, this course provides participants with hands-on practical experience in a variety of genres. Thanks to partnerships with the Hallé Youth Orchestra and Derby and Derbyshire Music Partnership, the practical work takes place in front of young musicians of the same age group as they encounter in their work.

A Music system that teaches children to sight read from the age of 3 years old. Adaptable for all instruments. Teaches one language for all and embraces creative Child led learning.

Our ‘Teaching Music with iPads’ training programmes provide everything educators need to deliver high-impact composition and performance with pupils aged 7+ in mainstream and ALN/SEND settings.

An online music theory and composing/arranging course. A shared login gives access day and night on any internet device, to teachers and students in a school or hub. Teacher-directed or student-directed. Answers to assignments are provided.

YouTube music workshop series and resource pack for children aged 7-10, which will help them gain the skills they need to create their own piece of music using different sounds, melodies, and rhythms.

The scheme aims to draw applications from talented young composers and songwriters aged 18-25 working in the widest range of traditions, styles and media.

The Teaching Musician is a flexible and vocational programme designed for experienced music educators. It offers a high quality professional development opportunity, leading to a suite of postgraduate qualifications, whilst being flexible to fit around your working life.
