Courses and workshops available throughout the year to support teachers and students of music and music education

Out of the Ark Music provide award-winning singing resources to over 18,000 primary school and early years settings across the U.K.  We now offer outstanding CPD training aimed at every teacher in every school. There are currently 4 workshops to choose from.  These can be delivered directly to schools or via Music Hubs’ conferences or events.

The PGCert in Performance Teaching will prepare you for employment as a professional artist-teacher in a range of contexts. These include higher education institutions, specialist performing arts schools and junior conservatoires, state and independent schools, community and lifelong learning environments, and inclusive learning programmes such as Sistema-inspired initiatives.

The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Music) is a vocational, one-year programme for graduates who aspire to teach music in secondary schools.

A combined adult/child safeguarding online training course written specifically for music groups and developed in conjunction with Making Music, the UK’s largest membership body for leisure-time music groups.

Led by RNCM tutor Mark Heron, this course provides participants with hands-on practical experience in a variety of genres. Thanks to partnerships with the Hallé Youth Orchestra and Derby and Derbyshire Music Partnership, the practical work takes place in front of young musicians of the same age group as they encounter in their work.

An online music theory and composing/arranging course. A shared login gives access day and night on any internet device, to teachers and students in a school or hub. Teacher-directed or student-directed. Answers to assignments are provided.
