Piano Equals: Tackling inequality through music

Added to website 27/05/2025.

Inspiring and unleashing musical creativity by making quality instruments accessible for all. We created Piano Equals as a first-of-its-kind, unique piano reuse and recycling scheme to help tackle the rising lack of access to musical instruments and inequality in music education.

We want to create sustainable musical opportunities for a whole new generation. Through the Piano Equals scheme, members of the public can offer to donate their pre-loved pianos to us. After a thorough assessment, we tune and complete any other fixes they need, before offering these high-quality pianos to schools and other organisations in need of more musical provisions.

Donating pre-loved pianos is not only accessible, but also sustainable. In fact, you can save up to 97% of the carbon cost CO2e of a new, imported piano by reusing one located within 50km of a school.
