Composition Challenges

Composition Challenges invites young people, teachers and schools to create new music for the London Sinfonietta inspired by works and musical ideas of living composers.
Each Composition Challenge explores the work and approach of a different contemporary composer, supporting curriculum learning and helping young people engage with creative composition. Composition Challenges are designed to be easy to use, flexible and open to all, from complete beginners to those with more experience. A short film, supported by a teacher pack, will guide you through each challenge with a variety of activities to get your class composing.
Any school can take part online and submit their compositions for us to share and perform at our flagship Sound Out Schools Concert each March and online concerts.
