Sound and Music launches national survey for composing and creative music-making

26th November 2018

Sound and Music Launches Can Compose: A national educators’ survey for composing and creative music-making

“Sound and Music has launched an essential national survey aimed at gaining insight and better understanding into the provision for children and young people to compose and create their own music, whether at school, through informal outlets or through other means. This is your chance to make your voice heard!

We want to hear from anyone who is involved in teaching music or using music to work with children and young people. Whether you are a teacher in a secondary school, a musician working in a youth club with young singer-songwriters, part of a hub or organisation supporting musicmaking, or working in a nursery encouraging toddlers to get noisy – we want to know more about what you’re doing, how you are being supported and how you see the role of creative music-making today.

The survey will take you roughly 8 minutes to complete and we greatly appreciate the time educators are dedicating to contributing their experiences and opinions. As well as completing the survey please forward it to all your music educator peers to help ensure Sound and Music captures the best national picture of creative music-making we can.
This survey will provide crucial evidence helping Sound and Music to develop policies and campaigns in support of a creative music education and for lobbying the government to ensure composing and creative music making has a suitable place within the national education policy. ” Sound and Music.
