Post grad Qualification for experienced Music Educators

21st September 2015

The Teaching Musician is a postgraduate qualification for experienced music educators and leaders offered by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. From instrumental/vocal teachers to ensemble leaders, animateurs and community musicians, the programme offers opportunities to reflect, engage with theory and research, and develop new skills within a community of practice on a programme that aims to be flexible around working life.

The Teaching Musician is a great way for employing organisations, including music education hubs, to invest in the professional development of their staff. As part of Trinity Laban’s commitment to workforce development for the music education sector, it is pleased to offer discounts to employing organisations who support staff (who are able to meet the programme’s criteria) to undertake the qualification as part of their professional development. To qualify employers need to:

  1. Signpost three or more students on to the programme AND/OR
  2. Make a financial contribution of no less than £100 per student to the cost of the programme
