Music Mark: Summer Programme 2026

18th March 2026

Music Mark is thrilled to announce the launch of our Summer 2026 Training & Events Programme, designed to empower music educators and leaders across the sector. With a diverse range of opportunities – including peer groups, mentoring, workshops, and conferences – there’s something for everyone looking to develop their skills and connect with peers this summer.

Peer Groups, Mentoring & Coaching:

Explore our updated Peer Group pages for upcoming dates. Please note that you must sign up at least 1 week before the next meeting to guarantee you’ll receive the joining instructions. Mentoring and coaching programmes are fully funded by Music Mark and available exclusively to members.

Leadership

‘Managing Through Change‘: gain practical strategies for leading through transitions in music education.
Our leadership offer will also include the relaunch of our Leadership Development Programme, currently open for application and a one-day conference for senior leaders from Andy Hind, on 1st July.

Inclusion

Don’t miss ‘An Introduction to Neurodiversity Awareness’ on 21st April. This is free for all Music Mark members,  exploring key concepts, lived experience, and practical ways to create more inclusive spaces.

This section of the programme will also include sessions from the IDEAL network – starting in April (could also sit under leadership).

Supporting Music in Every Classroom

Our T-Time session on 1st June will be an opportunity for teachers and music leads who want to refresh their classroom singing activities. On 8th June, the Primary Schools Series will spotlight BBC Ten Pieces & Other Resources, offering members free access to creative classroom materials. Then, on 9th June, the Secondary Schools Series focuses on Building Partnerships, helping you discover practical ways to collaborate with colleagues and partners across your school community.

In addition, don’t miss the Youth Mental Health First Aid with Soundcastle – a two-part series on 9th & 16th June – designed to equip educators with essential skills for supporting young people’s wellbeing. Later in the month, the Ofsted Update on Music in Schools on 25th June will share the latest developments in music education, and The Schools Printed Music License Unpacked with PMLL offers guidance on music copyright and licensing.

HE & FE: Connecting Further and Higher Education

Our flagship Higher Education Conference, ‘Past, Current and Future Progression Routes to HE,’ takes place on 6 May 2026 at Cardiff University’s School of Music. This inaugural event will gather sector leaders to discuss key pathways for young people entering higher education. Alongside the conference, our FE/HE Peer Group offers valuable opportunities for ongoing connection – join the next session on 23rd April at 2:30pm (remember to sign up in advance to receive your joining details).
