Music Mark publishes guidance to completing the DfE’s Consultation on the National Plan for Music Education

On the  24th February 2020 a group of CEOs and senior managers from across the Music Education and Industry met together to discuss the key points they felt should be considered as the ‘refresh’ of the National Plan for Music Education begins to move forward. The meeting, facilitated by Music Mark, pulled together, through a consensus workshop, a set of 11 key areas that were thought to be of particular importance. Following the meeting of Music Education leaders, Music Mark have released a guide for those completing the DfE’s consultation on the National Plan for Music Education.

The guide is provided to help with a response, we encourage our membership and their partners to respond individually and to give examples and information relevant to their situation.

The National Plan for Music Education (the Plan), published in November 2011 and running to 2020, set out the Government’s vision for music education. The government are consulting on the refresh, those wishing to contribute have until 13th March to respond. The consultation is available here.
