Music Mark is delighted to announce its Autumn Training and Events Programme 2026, bringing together a wide range of training and development opportunities for teachers, leaders, and music education practitioners across the sector. From practical classroom ideas and wellbeing support to leadership development and inclusion-focused learning, this autumn’s offer is designed to help colleagues grow their practice, build confidence, and connect with others working in music education.

Leadership development

Stepping Up to Leadership with Andy Hind | Starting 23rd September
Following a successful pilot, this six-module online course supports middle and aspiring leaders to build leadership capacity, strengthen their confidence, and maximise outcomes in their area of responsibility.

High Impact Senior Leadership with Andy Hind | Starting 7th October
Now in its fifth year, this popular six-module programme gives senior leaders in music education the time and space to reflect, develop their practice, and engage with high-impact leadership approaches.

Teaching, schools and classroom practice

Primary Music Ideas for Halloween | 1st October
Ideal for primary classroom teachers, this short session with Dabbledoo will share creative ways to use their free resource packs, with activities and ideas for Halloween that can be adapted for all primary age groups.

Ofsted Update on Music in Schools | 6th October
Hosted by Music Mark in collaboration with MTA and ISM, this timely online update features Christopher Stevens, HMI National Lead for Music at Ofsted, and will be of interest to anyone wanting to stay informed about current developments.

Instrumental Teaching in Specialist Schools: Getting it Right | 8th October
The first in a new series for 2026/27, this session with Ben Sellers will explore how to build expertise in specialist school settings and support confident, inclusive practice that responds to diverse and complex learner needs.

Tools and Activities for Singing Progression and Composition | 14th October
This free 90-minute session will deliver practical guidance and inspiration for primary teachers, including a look at new resources to support composition and singing progression in the classroom.

Wellbeing and inclusion

Micro-habits & Time Hacks for Music Educators | 30th September
Join Ruth Morgan for a practical one-hour session designed to help music teachers and leaders reduce overwhelm, protect their wellbeing, and leave with realistic strategies they can put into practice straight away.

Mental Health First Aid with Soundcastle | 16th & 23rd October
Become a Mental Health First Aider with Soundcastle and explore practical ways to support mental health in music education settings, while gaining a FAA Level 2 qualification in First Aid for Mental Health.
