Take part in the Duet Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Project 2019

10th December 2018

An opportunity has arisen for young musicians to take part in the Duet Philharmonic Orchestra concert at the Royal Festival Hall on Monday April 8th 2019.

Previous performances by the Duet Philharmonic Orchestra have been Mahler Symphony no 8, in 2013, Strauss’ Alpine Symphony in 2015 and Mahler 5 in 2017

The programme for 2019 is:

Wagner, Die Meistersinger Von Nurnberg Prelude Act I

Stravinsky, Symphony of Psalms

Mahler – Symphony No 6

Conductor Ronald Corp

Participants need to be available for the residential course from 3rd to 7th April 2019 at Wellington College, and the concert day itself on Monday 8th April 2019 at the Royal Festival Hall.  Although not essential, ideally participants would also be available for a play through on Friday 22nd February 2019 at Kings Place, London.

The course fee includes accommodation, catering and refreshments, master-class tutoring, transport and entertainment etc. We are urgently looking to recruit two Harpist, three Horn players, two Trumpet players and four Percussionists.  We are also a little light in all string sections so would welcome interest from Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass Players.  Ideally all applicants would be of at least grade 8 standards or working towards grade 8.

Anyone wishing to take part should contact karl.stevenson@duetgroup.co.uk, as soon as possible. Full brochure can be found HERE.
