Call for Further Content for Music Mark Conference 2020

6th May 2020

Following a brilliant response to our call for content for the Music Mark Conference earlier in the year, we are now calling for conference content which responds directly to the Coronavirus Pandemic. In the words of our CEO Bridget Whyte:

The Music Mark Board of Trustees and I would like to add an additional thread to the 2020 Annual Conference.  We are looking for presentations specifically linked to developments made as a response to school closures, social distancing etc.  What has changed about your business model, your offer to pupils and/or schools into the future?  If you have a story to share, we would love to hear from you.  We are keen to continue to programme many of the submissions we have already received, but we do think that this is a strand we should find space to include.  And, in light of the rapid adoption we have all made to digital platforms, if you have a presentation you would want to do digitally then let us know what you would need us to put in place to stream/present your session that way!

It has been great to read and consider the suggested presentations we have already received for the Annual Conference 2020. Of course, when we set the theme and put out a call for content, we were living in a very different world to that we are now in.  The impact of the Pandemic on everyone and everything is significant, and for Music Mark we are particularly aware of what it has meant for our Membership and the wider Music Education Sector. I have been overwhelmed by the creativity and speed with which everyone has developed and implemented alternative delivery. Yes, there have been challenges, but there have also been so many fantastic, successful programmes and projects happening across the country! We have learnt so much so quickly and there is likely to be elements of developing delivery which will remain in place as part of this ‘new normal’.

Music Mark’s Annual Conference is taking place from the 19th to the 20th of November 2020 at the Hilton Metropole, Brighton

If you are a Music Mark member and would like to run a session specifically linked to new working developments please complete the Conference 2020 Call for Content form by 1st June send to bridget.whyte@musicmark.org.uk. Please note members need not resubmit sessions we’ve already received.

You can read more about our 2019 conference here.

Priority booking – with an early bird rate – will be open to Members in July and general booking for Non-Members will open in September.
