Join British Youth Music Theatre and star in one of eight brand-new musical theatre shows! BYMT’s summer season will feature some of the biggest titles in theatre, music and literature.

BYMT (formerly Youth Music Theatre UK) give young performers and musicians aged 11-21 the opportunity to train and create alongside top industry professionals.

Build a full-scale production from the ground up, engage in a professional environment, perform at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues. There’s no experience like it!


Young performers, singers and actor-musicians are auditioning to join the company and train with leading theatre practitioners. The audition is a fun 3 ½ hour group workshop where participants learn singing, acting and dancing skills. Train with the UK’s foremost composers and musical directors. Be part of the leading music theatre company for young people by playing in a full-scale, professionally staged musical production. Learn new skills and develop your experience of playing in a pit-band or an on-stage band. You will already be able to play to grade 7 standard (no certificate necessary). British Youth Music Theatre’s unmissable season featuring original music from some of the UK’s most notable composers includes:

Smash-hit musical Paperboy returns, a heart-warming coming of age musical-drama set against the backdrop of 1970’s Belfast, with music by platinum-selling artist Duke Special.

The Accidental Time Traveller, adapted from Janis Mackay’s award winning book, is a magnificent new musical filled with wonder and imagination. With music by David Hewson

Goblin Market, combining musical theatre, fairy-tale and opera in this spectacular new production, with music by renowned composer Conor Mitchell.

Fight Like a Girl charts the remarkable rise of women’s boxing, this powerful new musical questions identity and challenges stereotypes with music by James Atherton.

Peter Pan is bigger and more raucous than ever before in this terrifically modern musical adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s classic tale. More to be announced soon with music by Jimmy Jewell. More shows to be announced soon.
