West Sussex Music Trust

West Sussex Music works with others to deliver high quality music education and opportunities for the children and young people of West Sussex.

We provide over 21,000 children with their music-making across West Sussex schools and colleges through whole-class ensemble tuition, ensemble activities, group and individual music lessons, singing strategy projects, CPD training, low cost instrument loan and large-scale events. We challenge schools and teachers to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils, their families and the community, and support projects that enable and encourage access to cultural opportunities for disadvantaged and disaffected young people through our music hub partnerships.

Through our commitment to innovative approaches to high quality music education, West Sussex Music Hub strives to:

  • ensure every child has access to high quality music-making opportunities;
  • improve the life-chances of children and young people through music;
  • encourage life-long learning and a love of music;
  • increase the numbers of children actively enjoying and engaged in regular music-making;
  • meet children’s cultural needs and ignite their aspirations;
  • bring communities together through a shared language;
  • encourage, nurture and celebrate musical achievement;
  • provide access to large-scale and high quality performances;
  • support schools and teachers to provide high quality music education;
  • support gifted and talented musicians to achieve their dreams.
