Hadiya Morris

Music Subject Leader at Phoenix Academy.

Hadiya studied English and Music at Brunel University presenting her dissertation on classical music’s accessibility to ethnic minorities. Following this, she completed a Musicology Masters in Music at King’s College London.

She has worked for a number of music education charities and organisations, including the Mayor’s Music Fund and RCM Sparks, assisting with fundraising and coordinating educational workshops and projects for children and families of all music abilities. She was invited back to King’s College London in 2014 to present a conference paper on this work and on access and diversity in the classical music sector as a whole.

Her passion for diversifying and increasing access to classical music has recently taken into the classroom where she is currently teaching secondary music.
