Youth Voice Music Forum facilitator/producer

LBBD MEH is looking for an experienced creative facilitator/producer for our Youth Music funded Youth Voice Music Forum project.

We have a large range of partners in place, strong and committed interest from schools and the local community, and a committed Youth Voice partnership steering group.

You will be;
• passionate about the value of a strong, diverse, inclusive and independent Music Forum working with both school and community settings;
• an excellent communicator and social networker;
• have current experience in music making, music teaching or producing;
• function well independently and be able to engage excellently with young people aged 14 – 25;
• able to report accurately to a small and dynamic team.

This is an action research and development role to establish a forum for young people to have greater influence on the “Live” music offer available to them in Barking and Dagenham. Ensuring diversity of voices, interests and needs of the youngest borough in London.

In the first phase of the project, 01/10/21 – 29/10/21 you will consult with Studio 3 Arts and Sound Connections to understand available research, and the current situation and also with the Music Forum steering group to develop and outline the development and establishment plan for phase 2. You will also begin to develop some initial targeted networking models. You will present a plan for phase 2 to the steering group by 03/12/21 for agreement.

In the second phase, 06/12/21 – 25/03/22) you will deliver the agreed plan. It is expected that a significant amount of work will take place in this phase. The outcome will be a Music Forum that is representative of the LBBD demographic, is inclusive and diverse and in line with the LBBD MEH Inclusion strategy which is available on application.
