Wandsworth Schools’ Music: Choir Leaders

Wandsworth Schools’ Music Service is looking for highly talented and experienced choir leaders and vocal tutors to work as required as part of our expanding team of vocal and instrumental tutors.

Hourly paid tutors: £23.10 – £28.51 per hour with eligibility for Teachers’ Pension scheme (Teachers Terms and Conditions scale UQ3 – UQ6, Inner London)

Wandsworth Schools’ Music Service is looking for highly talented and experienced choir leaders and vocal tutors to work as required as part of our expanding team of vocal and instrumental tutors. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience and expertise in leading choirs for both primary and secondary aged pupils. Successful applicants will be required to support our work through a variety of programmes including;

  • Choir directing (including a new borough Youth Choir)
  • Whole-class singing programmes in schools
  • Small group and 1-1 singing lessons

We are interested to hear from talented and enthusiastic choir leaders and vocal tutors with the following attributes:

  • Proven ability in leading and directing choirs  and experience of whole class singing programmes
  • Experience of high level singing and ability to demonstrate high levels of musicianship
  • Practical knowledge of the teaching of singing and promotion of good vocal health
  • Excellent knowledge of choral repertoire and ability to source and/or arrange a variety music that is challenging and engaging
  • Dynamic, engaging and passionate about engaging younger voices, in a safe, fun and nurturing learning environment
  • Enthusiastic team players who are able to use their own initiative while inspiring children with a love of music.
  • Excellent timekeeping and communication skills
