A school like no other, Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We’re currently looking for a Visiting Teacher of Classical Guitar to teach a wide range of students.

The aims of the Music Department are to inspire, enrich, and nurture every pupil to fulfil their musical potential in a dynamic, vibrant and exciting environment. We want to provide the opportunity and flexibility for the leading musicians of the future to achieve their ultimate ambitions and be recognised as one of the top five non-specialist music schools in the country.

We are always looking for exceptional instrumental teachers to join our team. At the moment, we teach around 700 instrumental lessons each week, and facilities in the Music School are excellent. As visiting teacher of Classical Guitar, you will teach boys and girls of all ages and abilities and might consider developing to teach Spanish Guitar if you so wish. Preparing pupils for examinations, concerts and masterclasses will be an important part of the role too, as will working within a strong team of fellow guitarists and other string players, each of whom are committed to delivering the very best for our pupils.

Initially, there will be at least one day a week of lessons, with the possibility of more teaching as the year progresses. To succeed, you will need to be an experienced classical guitar teacher who is used to teaching to advanced level and encouraging and nurturing a love of guitar playing that will be life long. As well as a Diploma in Classical Guitar and/or degree at University or Conservatoire level, you have ensemble experience, good knowledge of a varied and interesting repertoire (varied and interesting) and are familiar with Exam Syllabuses for Classical Guitar.

If you satisfy the above criteria and are reliable, adaptable, energetic and discreet and have a sharp and progressive vision of the subject area and a real desire to inspire the musicians of the future, apply today.
