South East London Music Hub Independent Chair
South East London Music Hub is looking to appoint an independent Chair for its new Hub Advisory Group. This voluntary role will make a substantial contribution to the strategic development of music education for children and young people across South East London.
Music Hub Advisory Group
South East London Music Hub Advisory Group will work with the hub to use impartial, evidenced-based decision making to allocate resources and oversee activities in a transparent manner. The Advisory Group is independent of the South East London Music Education Ltd. Board of Directors and Executive Group. The group will have the skills to support and challenge strategic decisions made by SELMH, for example, needs analysis and development of the Music Hub’s Local Plan for Music Education (LPME). The group will likely include schools, arts organisations, parents/carers, council teams, professional musicians, and youth representatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Providing challenge and oversight to the Hub Lead Organisation
- Ensuring the SE London Advisory Group works within its agreed Terms of Reference
- Chairing termly meetings of the SE London Advisory Group
- Promoting a culture of openness and debate by facilitating effective
contributions from all members of the Advisory Group - Agreeing agendas with the Executive Group ahead of meetings
- Representing/attending key meetings with Arts Council England
- Acting as an advocate for the Hub externally
