We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our dedicated team as Senior Instrumental Leader. Responsible to the Senior Instrumental Manager, the successful candidate will support the delivery and development of all aspects of the instrumental & ensemble strategy.

As an independent and inclusive charity, Wandsworth Music delivers excellence in music education and performance to more than 8,000 children and young people every year.

Our talented team of music tutors deliver more than 1,000 hours of tuition every week, and more than 35,000 hours each year, providing opportunities for young people to learn musical instruments and sing; perform in a range of bands, ensembles, and choirs; work and perform alongside acclaimed professional musicians and ensembles, and most importantly develop a lifelong love of music.

More than 500 young people attend the Wandsworth Music Academy on Saturdays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The Academy is home to more than thirty borough ensembles including: 3 symphony orchestras, 6 pop and rock bands, 3 jazz ensembles, multiple choirs, steel pans, djembe, chamber music ensembles, rap club and more!

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our dedicated team as Senior Instrumental Leader. Responsible to the Senior Instrumental Manager, the successful candidate will support the delivery and development of all aspects of the instrumental & ensemble strategy. This includes programmes in schools; the Wandsworth Music Academy; ensembles and performing groups; and related performance opportunities (concerts, holiday courses/tours, workshops etc.).

You will be an outstanding musician, with a passion for providing high quality and inspirational music education for all children and young people. It is essential that you are highly organised, able to multitask and take initiative and have excellent communication skills.

During term time, a proportion of this role will include teaching in schools and the Music Academy (the exact breakdown of teaching load to be agreed with the CEO).
