Merton Music Foundation has created a new fulltime Senior Curriculum Leader post which will sit at the heart of MMF’s Hub commitment to promoting musical opportunities for all children. Focussed on the National Music Plan’s Progression strand, the role will involve responsibility for the WCET programme, strengthening pathways from WCET continuation, overseeing progression across the different pathways and taking responsibility for the tutor workforce.

We hope to attract a music specialist who has been teaching for a minimum of five years and who is, ideally, a keyboard or string player. Exact responsibilities will be finalised when we know the strengths of the candidate appointed. The post will involve some evening and weekend work.

MMF is the lead partner of the Merton Music Education Hub. Highly regarded by Arts Council England, MMF has a proven track record of excellence in music education. We have close links with schools in the borough through individual teaching, whole class provision and special projects – recently presenting a concert at the Royal Albert Hall involving 1500 local children.

We run a vibrant Junior (Saturday mornings) and Senior (Monday and Wednesday evenings) Music Centre with a wide variety of ensembles. Our senior groups regularly perform at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Music for Youth Festivals, major London venues and undertake tours abroad.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance.
