Peripatetic Teacher of Drum Kit and Percussion
Oxfordshire County Music Service is looking for a full-time peripatetic teacher of drum kit and orchestral percussion to start work in April 2020. The ideal candidate will be able to teach both drum kit and orchestral percussion to Grade 8 standard, however we welcome applications from specialists which we will consider on merit. Applications from candidates with substantial experience of group or class teaching would be particularly welcomed. A car and full UK driving licence will be essential for this role.

Oxfordshire County Music Service is looking for a percussion and drum kit teacher to join its team of visiting musicians teaching in schools throughout the county.
We are looking for teachers who are:
• Able to teach pupils from beginner to post grade eight standard in primary and secondary schools on their specialist instrument
• Able to teach students individually, and in groups
• Able to teach a range of string instruments at a beginner level
• Able to work during the day, at the evening and on Saturday mornings

It offers weekly instrumental tuition and a thriving programme of other activities and events including vocal; performing arts; music technology; early music; music theory; area Music Centres; early years and adult programmes and courses during the weekends and school holidays. Progression is provided in all its ensembles from big bands and rock and pop groups through to wind bands and orchestras, the more advanced groups of which regularly perform at Oxfordshire’s cultural events, in national venues and in annual overseas tours.
Teachers will be paid on the qualified or unqualified scale for school teachers according to qualifications and experience.
Salary: Unqualified £17,682 – £27,965 per annum or Qualified £24,373 – £35,971 per annum
Due to teachers having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
