This will be on a casual basis until December 2020, with the possibility of this being extended, or work on a permanent basis, for the right candidate. The ability to teach other instruments in addition to Oboe would be a benefit, as would experience of group teaching.

OCMS is a progressive music service that also values tradition. We are looking for a gifted, committed music educator to enhance our talented and expanding team. Oxfordshire is a great place to live and work and OCMS is able to operate school teachers pay and conditions (qualified and unqualified) subject to local agreement.

We are looking for candidates who are:
• Able to teach pupils from beginner to post grade eight standard in primary and secondary schools
• Able to teach students individually, and in groups
• Looking for work during the day, evening or Saturdays

Oxfordshire County Music Service is an “Outstanding Music Service” with an international reputation. It offers weekly instrumental tuition and a thriving programme of other activities and events including vocal; performing arts; music technology; early music; music theory; area Music Centres; early years and adult programmes and courses during the weekends and school holidays. Progression is provided in all its ensembles from big bands and rock and pop groups through to wind bands and orchestras, the more advanced groups of which regularly perform at Oxfordshire’s cultural events, in national venues and in annual overseas tours.

Teachers will be paid initially on a casual, hourly-paid basis.

Due to teachers having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
