Oxfordshire County Music Service (OCMS) is a progressive music service that also values tradition. We are looking for a gifted, committed music educator to enhance our talented and expanding team. Oxfordshire is a great place to live and work and OCMS is able to operate school teachers pay and conditions (qualified and unqualified) subject to local agreement.

Oxfordshire County Music Service is looking for a brass teacher to join its team of visiting musicians teaching in schools throughout the county. This will be on a casual basis initially but with the possibility of a permanent post and increased hours for the right candidate in the future. Applications from candidates with substantial experience of group or class teaching would be particularly welcomed.

We are looking for teachers who are:
• Able to teach pupils from beginner to post grade eight standard in primary and secondary schools on their specialist brass instrument
• Able to teach students individually, and in groups
• Able to teach a range of brass instruments at a beginner level
• Looking for work during the day, evening or Saturdays

The Oxfordshire County Music Service is an “Outstanding Music Service” with an international reputation. It offers weekly instrumental tuition and a thriving programme of other activities and events including vocal; performing arts; music technology; early music; music theory; area Music Centres; early years and adult programmes and courses during the weekends and school holidays. Progression is provided in all its ensembles from big bands and rock and pop groups through to wind bands and orchestras, the more advanced groups of which regularly perform at Oxfordshire’s cultural events, in national venues and in annual overseas tours.

Teachers will be paid initially on a casual, hourly-paid basis.

Due to teachers having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
