Music Tutors – Cello, Drums and New Noise

£24,000 – £25,000 pro rata

Edsential is looking to recruit a cello tutor and drum tutor to teach in primary, secondary, special schools and out-of-school settings like arts and music venues across Wirral and Cheshire West & Chester. Teaching will be mainly individual or small group tuition. We are also looking to recruit a tutor for the New Noise Music centre based at the exciting new music venue, Future Yard, in Birkenhead. We welcome applications from a diverse range of musicians: DJs, electronic music, music production, instrumentalists.

Cello Tutor
Edsential is looking to recruit a cello tutor. Teaching will be mainly individual or small group tuition and there may be opportunities to work with whole classes or large ensembles for those with appropriate skills/experience. Initially, we anticipate 1.5 -2 days of tuition per week and we expect this to grow.

We are looking for excellent musicians with equally good communication and teaching skills who aim to inspire and enthuse children and young people with a love of music and instil the ability to take part in music making for the rest of their lives. Successful candidates will possess relevant qualifications, demonstrate a desire to learn and to develop professionally. The ability to be flexible and to work as part of a team is essential. Own transport is necessary due to the rural nature of our area.

Required Experience:

  • ABRSM (or equivalent) grade 8 cello. (Applicants without this qualification may be considered if they can demonstrate excellent musical performance skills.)
  • Tutoring and working with children and young people
  • Leading rehearsals preparing children and young people for performances
  • Planning educational activities to enable progression for individuals and groups of pupils

Drum Tutor
Edsential is looking to recruit a drum kit and percussion tutor within our Music Service to teach in primary, secondary, special schools and out-of-school settings like arts and music venues across Wirral and Cheshire West & Chester. Teaching will be mainly individual or small group tuition and there may be opportunities to work with whole classes or large ensembles for those with appropriate skills/experience. Initially, we anticipate 2 days of tuition per week and we hope that this will increase.

We are looking for excellent musicians with equally good communication and teaching skills who aim to inspire and enthuse children and young people with a love of music and instil the ability to take part in music making for the rest of their lives. New Noise Music Tutor

Edsential is looking to recruit a Music Tutor within our Music Service who can plan, organise and lead a programme for teenagers across contemporary music genres, teaching guitar,

drums, DJing and electronic music with a strong focus on collaboration and composition. Initially focussing on school years 10 and 11, the ambition is to create a music centre which provides an opportunity for students to experiment across a range of instruments and techniques in small group and workshop settings. This exciting project is in partnership with Future Yard, Birkenhead.

Initially, you will be working with a small team of music tutors on Saturday mornings during term time at Future Yard, an exciting new music venue in Birkenhead. There may be opportunities to increase the number of days and extend delivery to schools and other settings across Wirral and Cheshire West & Chester.

We are looking for excellent musicians with equally good communication and teaching skills who aim to inspire and enthuse young people with a love of music and instil the ability to take part in music making for the rest of their lives. Successful candidates will possess relevant qualifications, have current music industry experience and demonstrate a desire to learn and to develop professionally. The ability to work on your own initiative, but also as part of a team to deliver collective success is essential. Own transport is necessary due to the rural nature of our area.

Required Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications/skills and experience in any contemporary music instrument (drums, guitar, keyboard, DJ, music production, technology).
  • Tutoring and working with young people aged 11-18
  • Leading rehearsals preparing children and young people for performances
  • Planning educational activities to enable progression for individuals and groups of pupils
