MUSIC TECHNICIAN (P/T)

£17,891 - £19,939 pro-rata, per annum

The Oxfordshire County Music Service employs approximately 60 (full-time or part-time) peripatetic music teachers who provide a variety of musical opportunities to people of all ages, across the whole county, involving all styles of music, during the school day, after school, at weekends and during the school holidays. The Administration Team consists of 10 full-time or part-time staff that provide support for all activities and who provide the links between pupils, parents/carers, teachers, managers, schools and many others in the local communities, nationally and beyond.

The Service is now looking for a part time Music Technician to be based at its premises in the Centre for Music at Barton in Oxford.

A musician themself, the successful applicant will become part of a very busy team. He/she will support and develop Music technology in the Music Service including having responsibility for the recording and all other Music Service ICT (non OCC), audio and visual equipment, setting up PA equipment for rehearsals and concerts, and theatre lighting as appropriate. He/she will take photographs and video for display and publicity purposes (including editing video) and control the Music Service’s media and archiving library. They will maintain the Music Service and Hub website ensuring content is updated regularly and will also maintain the Service’s digital channels. He/she will need to have the ability to work as part of a team and to be able to cope with conflicting demands, deadlines and interruptions. They will need to be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate out of hours concerts and events.

Working for the Music Service is a demanding but very rewarding experience.
