Primary Music Post
St Barnabas and St Philip’s Primary CE School is excited to offer a Primary Music Specialist position for a committed and inspirational teacher from September 2017.

The position would involve leading curriculum music across the whole school, organising ensembles and promoting group and whole class instrumental tuition.

We are a high achieving school both academically and musically with a number of pupils benefitting from scholarships from the Thomas School Foundation and the Mayor’s Fund for Young Musicians.

The candidate would inherit a well-resourced and established music department with strong links to the Tri-borough Music Hub. We actively encourage pupils to access music-making both inside and outside of school.

The school has strong links with its church communities and the Christian ethos of the school plays an important role and you will be supportive of this. The postholder would be responsible for leading key stage singing assemblies and choir in preparation for regular collective worship events, working in partnership with the clergy and church musicians. It would be desirable for the candidate to have skills in keyboard and vocal direction/conducting and have experience of children’s hymns and the broad worship styles of the Church of England.

We welcome applications from Kodály specialists and those with commitment to providing a progressive, creative curriculum, based on the demands of the new National Curriculum in September 2017.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure will be undertaken on the successful person before an appointment is confirmed.

How to Apply

Visits to the school are welcomed prior to application. Application forms and further details are available from the school or alternatively you can apply online.
