Music Leader – Maternity Cover

£28,485 - £32,486 Grade 7 pro rata

Sheffield Music Hub is seeking an exceptional music educator with a flair for communication with Children and Young People. This inspiring musician will help to champion the vision of the hub working strategically with schools and partners to promote a high quality music education for every child. This exciting position will enable children and young people from all backgrounds and every part of Sheffield to deepen their enjoyment of music and to progress to the highest levels of excellence.

Worksite: Stadia Technology Park and various Sheffield Schools

Contract: Temporary (31/07/2018)

We will expect the Music Leader to lead activity by, with and for children and young people. This includes whole class ensemble tuition (first access), specialist lessons and ensemble directing. We believe in deep musical progression and expect our Music Leaders to inspire young musicians to develop and progress to the highest possible level.

We are seeking a woodwind specialist to cover this maternity (principally Clarinet). The post is available for 4 days / week.

The interview process will include a short lesson, a 40 minute interview and a 3 minute performance on your first instrument.
