Leicestershire Music are looking to expand our team of dynamic, energetic and dedicated Whole Class instrumental tutors.

We are looking to recruit 2 days of Woodwind, 5 days of Brass, 9 days of Guitar/Ukulele, 2 days of Steelpan teaching (apprentice model for training considered for Steelpan) to deliver our Whole Class Instrumental Teaching programme within schools around Leicester and Leicestershire and can take a lead with our out of school Performance Groups and extra-curricular opportunities.

We are also looking to recruit a 3 day a week Music Technology specialist to help expand our Music Technology offering.

We are a flexible employer and would therefore welcome applicants who are interested in delivering all or some of the days outlined above.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Demonstrate high levels of musicianship
  • Have the ability and passion to motivate, engage and inspire young people of all musical abilities and backgrounds
  • Have high professional standards, including excellent timekeeping, customer care and communication skills
  • Be an enthusiastic team player, able to use their own initiative
  • Be willing to learn and develop new skills

Contracts will be term time only for 38 weeks of the academic year and the typical working day is generally aligned to the school day with some opportunities to deliver out of school activities. The contract will initially be fixed term for the Academic Year 2022-23, however upon review this may be extended into future years.

Confidence and competence in teaching your first instrument to a high standard is essential. Experience in classroom teaching is advantageous but not essential as training and support will be given for Whole Class Instrumental Tuition.
