Hertfordshire Music Service (HMS) is one of the largest and most successful music services in the Country with a national reputation for excellence and opportunity. We are seeking a dynamic, passionate and inspirational leader to be our new Music Director to lead and develop HMS’ musical strategy.

The Music Director post will from a central part of our new Executive Team. Working alongside colleagues delivering on finance, HR and strategic operations, the Music Director post will be able to focus exclusively on the music.

You will work collaboratively to develop and deliver first class musical opportunities for children and young people across Hertfordshire working with a broad range of stakeholders including Arts Council England, Hertfordshire County Council, Youth Music, Music Mark, partners, other music hubs and organisations as appropriate.

First and foremost, you will recognise the transformative power of music education and believe that every child in Hertfordshire should have access to a great musical education regardless of their circumstances or where they live. You must be willing to embrace and drive organisational change, and experienced in leading leaders to deliver musical excellence.
