We are currently undergoing significant expansion and in order to help us plan an exciting course for the future, we are looking to employ a number of skilled musicians and teachers, some with leadership potential, to facilitate our ambitious development.

The roles would particularly suit outstanding teachers who are looking for a ‘first leadership’ opportunity to gain further skills and career enhancement. Successful candidates will be passionate about delivering the highest levels of musical teaching experience, evidence of committing to continual professional development, a first degree or equivalent evidence of significant music-making at a high level of performance.

Remuneration competitive dependent on qualifications and experience. Contracted positions, contributory pension scheme, car allowance available. The precise number of hours, specific duties and salary will be decided after interview according to the skills and experience of the candidate.

Lead Teacher : Classical Guitar (ref TL16.9.5)

This role would suit a formally trained Classical Guitar specialist who can demonstrate ability to a high level whilst having excellent whole class/workshop, individual and small group teaching skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential to lead the development of classical guitar teaching and guitar orchestras within the guitar department.

Lead Teacher : Contemporary Guitar (ref TL16.9.6)

This role would suit a contemporary (electric) guitar specialist who can demonstrate ability to a high level whilst having excellent whole class/workshop, individual and small group teaching skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential to lead the development of electric and brass teaching and contribute to acoustic guitar teaching within the guitar department as well as Soundstage, our contemporary programme.

Lead Teacher : Orchestral Percussion (ref TL16.9.2)

This role would ideally suit a formally trained Orchestral Percussionist (with the ability to play drum kit) who performs to a high level whilst having excellent whole class, individual and small group teaching skills. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in coaching and conducting ensembles and contribute to the ongoing development of the nationally renowned Berkshire Youth Percussion Ensemble and Berkshire Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Vocal and Instrumental Teaching Opportunities

Due to growing numbers, we seek inspirational and highly talented teachers and musicians to deliver individual and small group tuition in schools and music centres across Berkshire. We have opportunities for self-employed and contractual positions for teachers who are able to encourage children and young people to develop their enthusiasm and love for music-making.

  • Upper Strings Specialists – full and part-time contractual and self-employed opportunities available.
  • Piano and Keyboard Teachers – full-time, part-time and self-employed opportunities.
  • Woodwind, Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone – full-time, part-time and self-employed opportunities.
  • General Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Voice and Early Years and KS2 Curriculum Teachers – opportunities arise as the academic year progresses, due to expansion of teaching – please make contact with your details.
