East Riding Music Service seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic Woodwind Teacher (up to full-time) from November 2026. The ability to teach keyboard in addition to woodwind is desirable.

Duties include delivering high-quality tuition through individual, small-group and, where appropriate, whole-class teaching. We seek an individual with a passion for making music accessible to all children and young people, regardless of background or ability and who can inspire learners to achieve their full musical potential.

The role will involve teaching across a range of educational settings throughout East Riding of Yorkshire. As such, you must be willing and able to travel between schools and venues across the county therefore you must hold a full current driving licence. A mileage allowance will be paid to support travel requirements.

The East Riding Music Service delivers an extensive programme of high-quality musical enrichment opportunities, including choirs, bands, orchestras, ensembles, workshops and masterclasses.  You may have opportunities to contribute to these activities. Participation in some of these programmes might include evening and weekend working, which is paid in addition to contracted hours.

Applications are welcomed from experienced instrumental teachers, early career teachers and skilled musicians seeking to enter the profession. Appropriate support and professional development will be available.

East Riding Music Service staff are employed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and are appointed in accordance with School Teachers Pay and Conditions. Appointment will be made up to a maximum of Point 6 of the Main Pay Scale, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Based at Hexagon Music Centre, Beverley for up to 32.5 days per week, Monday to Friday as part of a fixed term contract until 20 July 2028.
