£28.50 - £32 per hour

• Teaching 2:1 30min instrumental lessons with pupils
• Engaged for maximum 7 hours per week for 10 weeks of each school term
• Paid at an hourly rate of £28.50/ hour (£32/ hour for those holding QTS)
• Payment on receipt of proof of Self Employed status and invoice

Exercise of Particular Duties

Specialist Music Teacher

• Deliver high quality instrumental tuition.
• Support our Director of Music to co-ordinate all peripatetic instrumental tuition and make links with other school based ensembles / instrumental tuition where appropriate.
• Ensure that the profile of music across all Federation sites is extremely high and that provision is of baseline outstanding quality

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

1. Applicants will be an accomplished instrumentalist have Grade 8 minimum in a first study instrument.
2. British Qualified Teacher Status or a UK recognised music qualification e.g. BMus / BA.
3. Excellent communication skills and well organised.
4. Evidence of high quality teaching and reflective practice.
5. Ability to establish an optimum learning environment for pupils.
6. An ability to differentiate their teaching, leading to high levels of achievement for children who have a diversity of needs and interests.
7. An awareness of recently published material e.g. National initiatives and strategies for music.
8. A commitment to the wider development of the school, its pupils, parents and local community.
9. An ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues and pupils.
10. A strong commitment to Equal Opportunities.
