Rotherham Music, provides music education to more than 4,000 children and young people each week across a range of musical disciplines for both in and out of school education. Alongside its provision for children and young people the service also supports a range of community music programmes from its Mini Melodies programme for pre-school children and their parents through to the extremely successful Care Home Choir project which was launched to help reconnect with older audiences following the pandemic.

The service is seeking to grow its teaching team and is now recruiting for casual peripatetic teachers with a specialism in piano and keyboard.

We are looking for experienced teachers with the ability to offer teaching, in a variety of settings, to a high standard. We are looking for a highly motivated and committed music educators, specialising in the disciplines listed above, to join our inspirational team. Our ideal team members would be:

  • Able to teach pupils to a high standard in their area of musical expertise
  • Able to teach students individually, and in small groups
  • Willing to develop their teaching practice according to the needs of a diverse range of students
  • Able to work during the day and, ideally, one evening
