Duties include teaching individuals, small groups and possibly some whole classes. A passion for widening access to all styles of music for all children together with an excellent track record and the ability to motivate young people to achieve their potential are essential. The ability to teach lower strings is desirable.

You must have a full current driving licence and be willing to travel and work at schools across East Riding of Yorkshire. An allowance will be paid to assist in the running of a car.

The service supports a large range of high quality musical extra-curricular activities including choirs, bands, orchestras, ensembles and workshop/masterclass opportunities. You may have the opportunity to be involved and this would include evening and weekend working paid as additional hours.

Experienced, new teachers and unqualified teachers are welcome to apply.

Schools’ Music Service staff are employed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council on School Teachers Pay and Conditions. Appointment will be made up to a maximum of point 6 on the main pay scale.

Based at Hexagon Music Centre, Beverley initially for up to 2.5 days per week, Monday to Friday (days negotiable).
