Oxfordshire County Music Service (OCMS) is a progressive music service that also values tradition. We are looking for gifted, committed guitar teachers and woodwind teachers to enhance our talented and expanding team. Oxfordshire is a great place to live and work and OCMS is able to offer school teachers pay and conditions (qualified and unqualified) subject to local agreement.

Oxfordshire County Music Service is looking for guitar and/or woodwind teachers to join its team of visiting musicians teaching in schools throughout the county. To meet increasing demand and be able to respond flexibly, we are interested in talking to teachers who are willing to take on some work with us, whether it is a couple of hours, a couple of days on a long-term basis, or short-term cover work. For the right candidate we may consider offering employment on a permanent contract in due course.
We are looking for teachers who are:

• Able to teach pupils from beginner to post grade eight standard in primary and secondary schools
• Able to teach students individually, and in groups
• Able to teach a range of guitar styles at a beginner level
• Looking for work during the day, evening or Saturdays

Oxfordshire County Music Service is an “Outstanding Music Service” with an international reputation. It offers weekly instrumental tuition and a thriving programme of other activities and events including vocal; performing arts; music technology; early music; music theory; area Music Centres; early years programmes; adult ensembles; weekend and holiday courses. Progression is provided across all genres and ensembles from big bands and rock and pop groups through to wind bands and orchestras. Our senior county-level groups regularly perform at Oxfordshire’s cultural events, in national venues and in annual overseas tours.

Teachers will be paid initially on a casual, hourly-paid basis.

Due to teachers having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
