Finance Officer

£17,000 – £20,000 pro rata (3 days a week)

Calderdale Music Trust, supported by over 30 highly qualified specialist music tutors, offers a wide variety of music programmes for schools and individuals of all ages within the Calderdale region. Following a review of our support systems, we are now recruiting two highly motivated and experienced individuals to work part time to complement the existing team to further support the operation of our business. A passion for music would be ideal but is not essential for these roles.

Finance Officer – the person appointed to this role will also perform an important function within the team by being required to develop and maintain efficient and robust financial systems and controls.  Duties will include preparing data reports, control of banking and petty cash, preparing invoices and chasing debt.

This position offers the opportunity to work flexible hours (including involvement in supporting conferences, tours and special events in relation to our core function of delivering outstanding music education support for children, young people and adults). This role will play a key element in supporting the Director and Assistant Director by ensuring the smooth operation of all financial and marketing aspects of the business.

The successful candidate must have:

  • experience in the role as detailed in the person specification
  • the ability to build successful relationships with senior colleagues
  • a genuine interest in the arts and culture sector

and in return will enjoy:

  • whole hearted support from an experienced Trust Board
  • encouragement in accessing training and development opportunities
