Music and Performing Arts Salford is seeking an Early Years practitioner to deliver Saturday morning with potential for further tuition including our Early Years ‘Tune into Talking’ programme, dependent on instrument and availability. Music and Performing Arts Salford welcomes applications from other instrumental disciplines for available tuition.

MAPAS are seeking an Early Years Music Tutor to deliver our Infant Orchestra programme on Saturdays 9:30-11:15 delivering Nursery – Year 2.
Our Infant Orchestra is the first step on a young musician’s journey. As part of each session members will: develop their sense of rhythm and pulse through use of our exciting percussion instruments, sing specially written songs perfectly tailored for young voices and perform as part of a group on a number of different musical instruments including; violin, trumpet and recorder. Led by specially trained members of our experienced tutor team, the Infant Orchestra is the perfect welcome into the MAPAS family for all young musicians.
There is potential for further tuition available, including our Early Years ‘Tune into Talking’ programme, dependent on instrument and availability.
As a self-employed tutor at MAPAS, you will have the opportunity to inspire students through a variety of teaching styles and settings, from individual / small group lessons, Whole Class Instrumental Tuition (WCIT), Curriculum and Ensemble leading.
Qualifications:
- Relevant musical teaching experience and/or Music Degree and Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills and a passion for music education
- Commitment to reflective and inclusive teaching practices

MAPAS are committed to safeguarding children and young people so successful applicants will be required to go through necessary checks and undergo regular safeguarding training.
Successful applicants will be engaged on a self-employed basis and are therefore responsible for their own tax and National Insurance arrangements, hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate and Public liability Insurance and an ability to travel between schools and other venues is essential. Tutors will complete a probationary period during the first six months of working with us, after which, pay rates rise to the higher bracket.
