Director of Learning Development: Teaching and Learning in the Curriculum and Centres

As a result of a retirement and restructure, Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) is seeking to appoint a new member of the Senior Leadership Team, to join us in September 2022, to lead on curriculum music support for schools, and leadership of our Regional Music and Arts Centres.

As a result of a retirement management restructure, we are seeking to recruit a new member of the Senior Leadership Team, to join us in September 2022.

Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) is a music education charity, which provides musical and artistic opportunities for the children and young people of Northamptonshire, with a £5m turnover. As lead partner of both the Northamptonshire and Rutland Music Education Hubs, the charity works with almost every school in the two counties. We engage with over 20,000 young people per year, run more than 30 County ensembles – bands, orchestras and choirs – 11 Saturday centres, and further enrichment, and performance opportunities throughout the year. We employ over 250 staff, including 13 who are permanently based at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre.

This is a senior role reporting to the Chief Executive, with responsibility for curriculum music, leading on curriculum music development in school as envisaged in our role as Hub Lead organisation. The post also has responsibility for the Regional Music Centres. The role offers membership of the Senior Leadership Team, and involvement in all critical strategic development decisions affecting the organisation.

You will be an experienced curriculum music teacher, used to managing and leading teams of people, leading training and delivering CPD. You will have knowledge and understanding of Music Education Hubs and their pivotal role in supporting Music Education.

The appointment is within the spirit of Teachers’ Pay and Conditions and is paid on the Leadership Spine L5 – L10, £49,019 – £55,610. This post benefits from membership of Private Health cash plan through WPA, and membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
