Director of Finance
We are seeking a Director of Finance to join the Senior Leadership Team of Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT). The successful candidate will have experience in a senior finance position, with a desire to work in the charitable sector for the benefit of children and young people.

Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) is a music education charity, which provides musical and artistic opportunities for the children and young people of Northamptonshire, with a £5m turnover. As lead partner of both the Northamptonshire and Rutland Music Education Hubs, the charity works with almost every school in the two counties. We engage with over 20,000 young people per year, run more than 30 County ensembles – bands, orchestras and choirs – 11 Saturday centres, and further enrichment, and performance opportunities throughout the year. We employ over 250 staff, including 13 who are permanently based at the Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre.
As a result of a retirement in June 2022, we are seeking to recruit a Director of Finance.
The role is currently an 80%, 4 day per week, position, with the possibility of discussion about expansion of the role to a full time role.
This is a senior role reporting to the Chief Executive, with responsibility for all statutory and management reporting. The role offers membership of the Senior Leadership Team, representation at Trustee meetings and involvement in all critical strategic and financial decisions affecting the organisation.
You will be an experienced ACA or ACCA qualified accountant; used to managing multiple teams and used to contributing to strategic organisational development discussions. Experience in the charitable sector would be useful. You will be an Excel user, at least at an intermediate level. You will be responsible for the finance and administrative teams, as well as for a site manager and a librarian.
The appointment attracts an FTE salary in the range £49 – 55k. Also included are membership of an auto enrolled pension scheme and a private health cash plan. The post is subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
