Camden Music Service aims to provide an inclusive and approachable environment, where difference is valued, and everyone feels welcome and is inspired by our activities. We are committed to reviewing our recruitment practices, our offer, and the way we communicate with people, to make sure that any Camden child, whatever their race, gender, faith, wealth or abilities, can see themselves reflected in us, and can imagine taking part.

Following a promotion from within a small, experienced and well-established team, we are seeking a new Deputy Head of Music Service, to lead on borough instrumental ensembles and secondary curriculum, and to contribute to the further development of a prestige service where legacies are made within the community we serve. This is a permanent role working on a full-time basis and starting as soon as possible.

Music is strong within Camden and currently every school in the borough engages with the service, which organises instrumental tuition in the majority of Camden’s schools, runs 37 borough ensembles and choirs and two Saturday music centres. It promotes regular performances including the biennial Schools Music Festival at the Royal Albert Hall and works in partnership with professional arts organisations.

If you are an exceptional music educator, a qualified teacher, have experience of working within a Music Service, and wish to be considered for this opportunity within the education sector as deputy head of service, then please apply now.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
