An exciting opportunity has arisen at Warwickshire County Council for an outstanding, committed leader to become the new Delivery Lead of our successful and highly valued Music Service. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for what music can do for young lives, a proven track record, and the relevant experience to inspire those who work for the service to develop a world class music-making offer for Warwickshire. The key focus of this role is to provide leadership for Warwickshire’s Music Service including the Music Education Hub for Warwickshire (Warwickshire County Council is the lead partner). To ensure that the Music Service achieves sufficient income through traded work and grant-funded activity to deliver high quality music services. Warwickshire’s Music Service is a traded service working across the county; the service is financially self-sufficient through the Arts Council Hub grant and generated traded income.

Warwickshire’s Music Service is a traded service working across the county; the service is financially self-sufficient through the Arts Council Hub grant and generated traded income. The service works with many schools across the county and provides instrumental, vocal and curriculum music lessons across Warwickshire. It also runs 4 Music Centres which runs many groups and ensembles.

The key focus of this role is to provide leadership for Warwickshire’s Music Service including the Music Education Hub for Warwickshire (Warwickshire County Council is the lead partner). To ensure that the Music Service achieves sufficient income through traded work and grant-funded activity to deliver high quality music services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a team of managers, teaching and business support staff. The role involves working across the county in partnership with the Arts Council, a range organisations, schools and academies to ensure services are regularly monitored and evaluated and meet national and local priorities. The post holder will regularly meet with neighbouring Music Hubs and attend regional and national meetings.

Key Requirements
You will possess a detailed understanding of:
Strategic, developmental and operational requirements and structures of a traded Music Service and its role in leading a Music Education Hub.
Detailed delivery requirements and expectations associated with music and cultural education for children and young people.
The importance of music education across all sectors and structures of the educational spectrum including opportunities for young people in challenging circumstances, Children Looked After and those with different abilities.
How to manage demands of varying partnerships.
Writing and overseeing funding applications, such as Arts Council England, MEH grant.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have experience of working at a senior level within the Music Education Sector.
Have experience of managing significant resources and budgets.
Experience of leading and managing successful teams.
Experience of making change happen, responding to internal and external financial and organisational pressures.
Experience of business planning.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required – must achieve satisfactory clearance at offer stage.
