This is an exciting role for an exceptional conductor with significant experience working with young people in a group of mixed abilities. You will be an inspiring and engaging leader with an excellent knowledge of orchestral repertoire, keen to work with colleagues to develop a creative and broad programme of activities for the ensemble.

The LSSO is one of Lancashire Music Service’s County Ensembles, offering the opportunity for committed young musicians to take their music making to an advanced level working alongside professional directors and tutors.

The LSSO is currently made up of 50 children and young people aged 9 – 18, ranging from approximately ABRSM grade 3 to 5 standard or equivalent. The orchestra works closely with the Lancashire Youth Symphony Orchestra (LYSO) with many members moving on to join the LYSO.
