We’re looking for a skilled leader of children’s voices who will work in schools across the city of Leeds delivering our Schools Singing Programme and play a key role in developing our choirs in the Diocese.

Whole-class singing sessions are the core of our Schools Singing Programme, and are currently delivered in 65 primary schools, reaching around 6,500 children every week, built on a curriculum developed in consultation with Dr Rebecca Berkley at the University of Reading and a musicianship and notation resource written for us by Lucinda Geoghegan.

Our after-school choirs provide further opportunities and include the seven choirs of Leeds Cathedral, providing liturgical music for parishes, regular concerts and tours, BBC broadcasts and recordings. Many of the choirs enjoy partnerships with world-renowned ensembles including Gabrieli, The Sixteen and several US universities.

We welcome applicants at any stage of their careers, including new graduates, and we are experienced in tailoring our support and opportunities to musicians’ strengths and development needs. If you feel your skill set fits one or more of these roles, we are open to exploring flexible options to suit the right candidate.
