Choir & Events Administrator

£24,000 - £30,000 pro rata 0.9FTE

FCMG, London’s leading children’s choir seeks an Administrator with a music- or arts-based background, to act as the primary liaison point with our membership, to support the Musical Director, the Chair and the committee with the regular operations of the choirs and to work directly with venues and external clients.

FCMG (Finchley Children’s Music Group), founded in 1958 with Benjamin Britten later becoming its President, is London’s leading children’s choir with over 200 singers aged between 5 and 18 across four choirs. Under the direction of Grace Rossiter since 2001, the choirs are well known for their natural, vibrant vocal quality.

Part-time, employed at 0.9 FTE (33.75 hours per week)Salary: £24,000 to £30,000 commensurate with experience pro rata

In addition to our own regular self-promoted concerts, FCMG is frequently invited to take part in performances of larger choral works with leading conductors and orchestras and in recordings for radio, television and film. FCMG has on ongoing commitment towards new music for children’s voices and seeks to commission new repertoire from leading UK composers.

The ideal candidate will be the central administrative connection between the membership, the Chair, the Musical Director and the organisational committee. They will also be the primary contact point for the organisation with external clients and venues. They must have excellent people skills, a genuine passion for participatory arts, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple projects whilst maintaining both effective and efficient working practices. They should be able to demonstrate excellent administrative and digital skills in managing and processing data and be able to use and develop systems effectively, including databases.
